Having a paid carer come to visit you in your home can make a huge difference to your life, especially if you have difficulty walking or getting around. It can help you stay living independently in your own home.
You might want to consider care at home if:

If you need help getting up in the morning, going to bed at night, washing, dressing and undressing, going to the bathroom or making your bed, he or she can help.
Your carer can also assist you in taking your own medication, providing it has been prescribed for you by your GP.
This is of course subject to certain limitations.
Your carer can help you prepare your meals: breakfast, mid-day meal, evening meal or supper, as well as snacks and drinks you may need during the day or he or she can prepare them for you.
If you need help with light domestic tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, house cleaning, washing up and personal laundry, again your carer can help you with this.
Managing your personal affairs, such as birthdays and other anniversaries, preparing shopping lists and other daily social activities.
Sometimes pets can be very demanding, so feeding and exercising them can be difficult.
If required your carer can also do this for you.
This is for clients who need help occasionally throughout the day or night (10pm - 7am) but not continuously. We will visit you in your home to discuss your needs prior to placing a care assistant with you. A Service User Care Assessment and Care Plan is produced through consultation with each client to ensure we gather accurate information about care needs, wishes, preferences and personal goals.
Most of our clients need help during the day to aid getting up, washed and dressed in the morning or visa versa at night for example. Some may just need help preparing meals and may like some company while they eat. Each client is individual and will be treated as so.
We have a flexible night care service if this is required, you can choose from one of the following:
If you choose the sleeping service, you will be expected to provide a bed for the domiciliary carer.
"We found everyone we came in contact with most helpful and sympathetic which helped tremendously."
